MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID ENGLAND TRAINING

I am an approved instructor with Mental Health First Aid England delivering adult and youth training.

I offer two and one day courses that provide different levels of knowledge and skill, but essentially focus on raising awareness around mental health conditions.


Each course has a maximum number of 16 delegates and can be done in person or online.

Each delegate will receive a mental health manual and workbook; on completion of the course each person will  receive a certificate.

MHFA ADULT COURSES

The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) Two Day course is split up into 4 manageable modules. These are:

  • What is mental health?

  • Suicide and depression

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Psychosis

In each section you’ll learn how to:

  • Spot the early signs of a mental health problem

  • Feel confident helping someone experiencing a mental health problem

  • Provide help on a first aid basis

  • Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others

  • Help stop a mental illness from getting worse

  • Help someone recover faster

  • Guide someone towards the right support

  • Reduce the stigma of mental health problems

The Mental Health (MHFA England) Champion One Day course is split up into 2 manageable modules.     

In each section you’ll gain:

  • An understanding of common mental health issues

  • Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness

  • Ability to spot signs of mental ill health

  • Skills to support positive wellbeing

MHFA YOUTH COURSES

The Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) Two Day course is split up into 4 manageable modules. These are:

  • What is mental health?

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Suicide and psychosis

  • Self harm and eating disorders

It also covers other topics specific to young people that include child and adolescent development, bullying/cyber bullying, substance misuse and promoting protective factors and good parenting.

In each section you’ll learn how to:

  • Spot the early signs of a mental health problem in young people

  • Feel confident helping a young person experiencing a problem

  • Provide help on a first aid basis

  • Help protect a young person who might be at risk of harm

  • Help prevent a mental health illness from getting worse

  • Help a young person recover faster

  • Guide a young person towards the right support

  • Reduce the stigma of mental health problems

  • Ability to spot signs of mental ill health in young people and guide them to a place of support

  • Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness

  • Skills to support positive wellbeing
